HBDJ Weekly Update - Week 41

Welcome, welcome!

It's Week 41 already. Honestly, I still can't quite believe how consistent I've managed to be with this series.

This week was a pretty slow one on the surface, but there has been plenty happening behind the scenes. We've been getting Xero set up, responding to enquiries, sorting admin, and handling all the other tasks that come with running a business. It's not always the most exciting work, but it's a huge part of what keeps everything moving.

People often see the gigs, the music, and the dancefloors, but the reality is that DJing is only a small portion of the job. A lot of the work happens before anyone even arrives at the venue.

We didn't have any gigs this weekend, which kept things nice and quiet for the lads. I did manage to get out and see Aimee D playing at Brew Co last night, and as always, she absolutely tore the house down. I even managed to sneak my way onto the decks for a few tracks. Thankfully, nobody ran for the exits, so I'm calling that a success!

Unfortunately, Open Decks was postponed due to circumstances outside of our control. The good news is that we've already rescheduled, and we'll now be running it on Saturday, 25 July. Keep an eye on our Instagram over the next few days as we'll be announcing the lineup soon.

Sometimes the quieter weeks don't make for the most exciting stories, but they're often the weeks where the foundations get built. Every invoice sent, enquiry replied to, and system improved helps us put on better events in the future.

Have an awesome week, team!

Jaden
