Good morning,

I’m currently writing this at about 2:04am on Sunday. As a shift worker on a 24/7 roster, I do pull the short straw sometimes and end up on the overnight shift, so here I am holding it down until 7am.

General Updates

This past week has been a big one for us. We’re finally wrapping up our transition into a Limited company within the next week, which means we’re stepping into an exciting new chapter.

It hasn’t come without its challenges, but with the help of some very talented friends (shoutout to those skillsets), we’re working through the hiccups and making steady progress.

Open Decks

We’ve started putting together next month’s Open Decks lineup and are working our way through all the sign-ups.

If you haven’t added your name yet, now’s the time! And if you haven’t been contacted for a set just yet, don’t worry, your time is coming very soon.

Weekend Just Gone

Last night was a bit of a split mission. I was rostered to start work at 10:30pm, so I had to leave Michael and Phillips to throw down at Rita’s and from the videos I’ve seen, they absolutely smashed it. The dancefloor looked unreal.

As for me, I made a stop at Miss Gee’s for my second-ever set there (the first being a private event a couple of years back and only my second private gig ever, I think!).

Miss Gee’s is such a great spot, right in the heart of the Strand. The area’s had a massive glow-up in recent years, with new walkways, water features, and a stunning archway featuring Māori designs.

The night itself was a UK garage-themed drag event hosted by the incredible Molly Mayhem. I kicked things off from 9–10pm alongside Aimee before heading off to my shift. We gradually got the dancefloor moving, and Aimee carried it through to the end of the night.

All in all, bloody great night.

I’m definitely looking forward to being back at Rita’s this coming weekend. It’s shaping up to be one you won’t want to miss.
