HBDJ Weekly Update - Week 25

These weeks are flying by.

This week at Homebrewed has been a big one behind the scenes. We’ve been working towards transitioning into a Limited Company, which is a pretty important step for us. It puts us in a much better position long term, more structure, more protection, and the ability to scale properly as things continue to grow.

On the events side, we had Open Decks to look back on.

The night didn’t exactly start how we planned. With the tail end of Cyclone Narelle rolling through, we ended up getting a power surge through a socket we’ve used plenty of times before, which unfortunately took out one of our XDJ-700s. Not ideal.

After a bit of quick troubleshooting, we found a more reliable power source, got everything back up and running, and carried on. The rest of the night flowed really well. A lot of drum & bass coming through again, which is definitely becoming a trend at Open Decks lately and something we’re all for.

Today we’re heading out to record another scenic set. This one’s a house set I originally played on December 30th at Euphoria Until Sunrise. One of my favourite sets I’ve ever done. Figured it deserved a proper re-run, and this time we’ll be capturing it properly for both SoundCloud and YouTube.
