HBDJ Weekly Update – Week 14

Welcome to Week 14 of the Homebrewed DJs Weekly Update. Another busy one, and the final week of Jaden’s holiday before it’s back to the regular grind.
Last week’s Sunset Sundays was an absolute treat. Huge thanks to Aimee and the Sunset Boys for having us back down again. Aimee, Phillips, and I (Jaydo) each played 45-minute sets, working through our favourite house tracks at the moment. Unreal vibes all round. I seriously can’t hype Beach Bar Papamoa enough — the location is immaculate and always delivers.
While we were down there, Aimee threw out the idea of doing a pop-up on Mount Main Beach the following Tuesday. So we made a quick poster, invited a bunch of mates who were still on holiday, and sent it. Aimee even brought her pole and had some dancers come through — such a fun morning on the beachfront. She may end up posting a recorded set from the beach, although the audio didn’t come out quite how we’d hoped. Lesson learned for next time.
Saturday was a big one for the lads. We kicked things off at The Raft from 5pm, running euphoric house through until 8pm while the sun set over the harbour — honestly, hard to beat. Bonus points for the cheeseburgers too… unreal.
To wrap the night up, we got a last-minute call-up at Mount Tavern. No real plan — just jumped on and played whatever felt right. The night started slow but built nicely, and before we knew it we were running through until 1am.
Solid week all round, and another busy one ahead now the regular grind is back in the mix.
Cheers team,
Jay
