HBDJ Weekly Update – Week 11

Hello legends — it’s Sunday, which means we’ve hit Week 11 of the HBDJ Weekly Update. As we head full force into the silly season, things are starting to ramp up fast.

We were out on Friday night at Mount Pub & Kitchen, and what a vibe. The night kicked off very housey, then took a few twists as some familiar faces jumped on throughout the evening. DAV popped in and dropped some dancefloor drum and bass, and Aimee D was hanging around too — always a good time. As the bar got a couple dancers later in the night, things leaned into a bit of a late-2000s throwback before we wrapped it up.

Saturday came together in true last-minute fashion. Around lunchtime, I got a message from Aimee saying another DJ had fallen sick. We scrambled together some playlists, and by 8pm we were on the road to Te Puna.

The event was a wedding-style vow renewal — the couple had their main wedding overseas years ago and wanted an excuse to bring their Kiwi friends together. Safe to say, they loved to dance. Such a fun crowd and an absolute pleasure to DJ for.

That brings us to Sunday — time to rest up before another big week ahead. Merry Christmas to anyone reading this. Hope Santa’s loading you up with CDJ-3000s 🎅

We’ll be back one more time before New Year’s, and we’ve got some fun things happening tomorrow and Tuesday… so let’s rip into it.
