HBDJ Weekly Update – Week 13

Happy New Year and welcome to Week 13 of the HBDJ Weekly Update. Easily the busiest week of the year for the boys, with Euphoria Until Sunrise going down at TECT Park — and honestly, it exceeded every expectation we had.

Night one went deep, running right through until 5am with Takydon throwing down hard techno well into the early hours. New Year’s Eve itself was chaos in the best way. Most of the camp spent the day recovering, but by 10pm the New Year’s energy kicked in and everyone was back at the stage ready to send it.

Dave Share and I (Jaydo) had the honours of taking on the New Year’s set, playing from midnight through until 3am. Three hours of pure energy and an unreal crowd — easily one of the highlights of the entire party. The stage then ran through till 6am with Leksay and Concussion keeping everyone dancing well into the morning.

The rest of the week has been spent recovering and reviewing how the event played out so we can tighten things up and improve for the future. Today you’ll find me filling in at Sunset Sundays, throwing down some funky house at Beach Bar Papamoa. Next Saturday, we’re back at The Raft on Chapel Street, bringing the same vibe from 5–8:30pm.
