HBDJ Weekly Update – Week 16

Heya team, welcome to Week 16 of the Homebrewed weekly update.

Just a quick recap this week after a late one last night. We had the absolute honour of DJing the wedding of Brittney and Hoani, and what a night it was.

The venue alone was unreal — stunning views over Lake Tarawera with a beautiful garden setting that really set the tone for the evening. While setting up, we got to listen in on the speeches, with waiata between each one. Honestly, pretty moving stuff and such a special way to bring everyone together.

Once the dancing kicked off, the night was anything but predictable — big energy swings, bold genre jumps, and plenty of hard left turns musically. Not the kind of dance floor you can ease into, but once we locked in, it absolutely pumped all night. You could tell no one wanted it to end when the music finally had to be turned off.
