About the Event:
Open Decks is back for 2026.
Whether you’re a seasoned selector or stepping up for your first public set, this is your chance to play on a proper system, in front of a real crowd, with Homebrewed DJs hosting the night.
Each Open Decks event will be held at a different venue, with the location announced individually for each date.

Set Recording & Media Notice (Read This)

Sets may be recorded (audio and/or video) during Open Decks events.

Where possible, recordings may be uploaded to the Homebrewed DJs YouTube channel and used for promotional purposes.

By signing up and performing, you consent to your set being recorded and published.

If you have concerns around this, notify us before the event — don’t spring it on us mid-set.

Terms & Conditions:
Participation

Open to all DJs, regardless of experience level.
Time Slots
-
Slots are first come, first served.
-
Lineups will be released as early as possible so you can prepare.

Standard set time: 30 minutes.

If sign-ups exceed capacity, you may be offered a slot at a future Open Decks — we’ll contact you directly.

If participation is low, longer sets may be offered (optional).

Please arrive early for smooth changeovers and uninterrupted music.

Schedules may change — we’ll communicate updates as soon as possible.
Equipment Use

Make sure you are familiar with the Pioneer XDJ-XZ before playing.

USB (standalone) or laptop (Serato) setups are allowed.

Unless using a laptop in controller mode, you will be using 2 channels only.

Bring your own headphones.

Respect the gear — careless damage = you pay.
-
Main volume is locked to venue & council limits — do not touch it.

Redlining is not headlining. It sounds bad and wrecks speakers. Keep it out of the red.
Behaviour

Respect the equipment, staff, and the room.

No drinks near the decks. Ever.
Damage may result in repair costs of up to $8,500. -
If behaviour is unreasonable, we reserve the right to end your set early.
